Sliding into motherhood:
Life lessons from a “Bad” mom
It’s not often that I read a book that I love so much that I beg the author to let me do a book review on it and share it everywhere I can. Sliding into motherhood: Life lessons from a “Bad” mom made me laugh and cry, and travel through every emotion in between.
Every mom, at some point, feels like she doesn’t measure up. How can we not? Pick up two parenting books, side-by-side, and they will both tell you something completely different.
One book tells you not to spank you child, the next tells you its ok…who is right? Are my children smarter because I breastfed them, or are they lacking in intellectual development because I plopped them in front of the TV to watch Barney and Blue’s Clues so I could clean without them coming behind me like mini-tornadoes?
I have six children, and each one has a vastly different personality. Does that mean I was a bad mom, or a good mom?
In Sliding into motherhood: Life lessons from a “Bad” mom, Gabrielle Riggins, of Sliding Into Motherhood, writes about her amazing journey into motherhood. This book is for all moms who feel like they are falling short, because we aren’t following all of the advice from the baby books.
By the time you get to the end, you will fall totally in mom-crush with Gabrielle… and when you read the touching letter to her son… grab some Kleenex!
