Life This Week: Catching Up
It has been a crazy, busy week for this working mom! I tried almost every night to get some work done and post new content…but life kept getting in the way. We were pretty busy at work, had two baseball games, an elementary school variety show, and Easter.
When the kids have days off at school, we usually get pretty lucky. If they are due to a major holiday, I usually have the day off as well. Most Teacher Work Days and minor holidays fall on Mondays, when my husband is off. Good Friday doesn’t fall under either category. My MIL didn’t feel up to watching the boys so I had to request the day off. I HATE taking days off. Not only would I prefer to save my Paid Time Off for emergencies, but it’s a pain catching up on the work when I return.
Since I didn’t have a choice, I figured we’d get as much done as possible. After breakfast and laundry, we headed out to run errands. Mommy got a pedicure, while the boys played on their tablets. Thankfully, they behaved and even got to see their old daycare teacher…they were thrilled, and Mommy got pretty toes. Then we went grocery shopping, then headed to GNC for N.O. Explode. It’s hard enough getting up to go to the gym…it’s impossible without our N.O. Explode. By the time we got home, we were tired…but excited that we got our Saturday errands done on Friday so we could enjoy our Saturday.
For Saturday, we had baseball practice at 10:00 am, our first Easter part and hunt at 11:00 am, and our second one scheduled for 3:00 pm. Between the first and second Easter Egg Hunt, I took the boys to Taco Bell for Strawberry Starburst Freeze’s.
We were the only ones to show up for baseball practice, so Gage got a lot of one-on-one practice with the Coach. I felt awful that he came out and it was just us…but grateful that Gage was able to work on his swing.
By the time we got home, we were all exhausted…and the Easter Bunny hadn’t yet had a chance to prepare for tomorrow…CRAP!
Rushing to the store…. signed, a frazzled working mom.
